The word structure in English is based on Subject Verb Object. However, in Korean it is different. It is more like Subject Object Verb The first example I used was : I saw a movie. In Korean, the object goes before the verb. So, it would look something like this: λλ μνλ₯Ό λ΄€μ΄μ. Here "λλ" means I which is the subject . "μνλ₯Ό" means movie, which is the object and "λ΄€μ΄μ" means saw which is the verb. So, the literal translation of " λλ μνλ₯Ό λ΄€μ΄μ" in English would be, "I a movie saw," which sounds very weird, but that's how it is Korean and many other languages, including my own, which is Bangla.
I haven't learned a lot of new information. I was really busy this week, but I set goals for myself. I am going to make a schedule to help me be more organized. I have been practicing pronouncing the words a lot lately. If I saw something In Korean I would try to read it and make sense of it. I know some vocabulary already but not nearly as much as I should. This weekend, I went to H-mart, which is an Asian store, and I bought some Korean food. I was able to pronounce the food that I ordered so well, that the lady at the counter was surprised! She asked me if I knew what it was and I said yes and she seemed really surprised. That made me feel a little proud of myself, I don't know why. The fact that I could pronounce it like a native made me feel a little accomplished :) I will be updating tomorrow too, so stay tuned!
